Senator Kerry has broken through with one religious group - Muslims.  Virtually every major national Islamic group in the United States has endorsed the Kerry ticket and now even Muslim leaders abroad are joining the "bandwagon" for Kerry.

Over the weekend, the former prime minister of Malaysia, Dr. Mahathir bin Mohamad, sent an open letter to American Muslims in which he urged them to vote for John Kerry.  Dr. Mohamad asserts that President Bush "is the cause of the tragedies in Afghanistan, Palestine, and Iraq" and he tells American Muslims that it is "truly an ibadah" (act of devotional worship) to vote for Kerry.

Dr. Mohamad is a notorious anti-Semite and all around thug.  He has publicly asserted that "Jews rule the world by proxy."  This is a man who thinks Afghanistan was a good place when the Taliban were in control, but now that Afghans, including women, can vote it is a "tragedy."  He liked Iraq when it was under Saddam Hussein and he sees Arafat as the hope of the Palestinians.  And here in the United States, he has examined the two candidates and decided Kerry is his man. 

I'm sure Senator Kerry will disavow the endorsement, quietly of course, but he might pause to ask himself why a notorious "hate America" demagogue, like Mohamad, thinks it is a religious duty for Muslims to vote for him.
